 is tightly woven and traditionally made out of worsted wool. Gabardine Fabric is a form of twill weave. The fabric is smooth on one side and has a diagonally ribbed surface on the other. It takes its name from the garment, the gabardine, which is a long, loose overgarment tied at the waist.
